Delete your Live Rishta account

This page explains how to ask Live Rishta (liverishta.com and the Live Rishta mobile app) to delete your account and the data linked to it.

How to delete your account

1. In the app: sign in, open Settings → Delete account, enter your password and confirm.
2. On the website: sign in, open your account security settings and choose Delete my account.
3. Can't sign in or no longer have the app? Email [email protected] from the email address you registered with, with the subject “Delete my Live Rishta account”. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act.

What happens next

• Immediately: your profile is hidden from all members and you are signed out everywhere.
• Within 30 days: if you change your mind, contact support and we can restore your account.
• After 90 days: your photos, profile details, family and contact details, partner preferences, favourites, profile visits, blocks and any identity-verification documents are permanently deleted.
• After 180 days: your registration details (name, email address, date of birth) and sign-in/IP records are permanently removed or anonymised.

What we keep, and why

• Payment and refund records, for the tax and accounting periods required by law.
• Reports and safety records, and any data under a legal hold, until the matter is resolved.
• Messages you sent to other members stay in their inbox, shown as “Deleted Member” once your identity is removed.
• Registration details are kept for up to 180 days after deletion as required by India’s Information Technology Rules, 2021.

Delete only some of your data

You can delete your photos and edit or remove profile details yourself at any time without deleting your account. To ask us to delete other data (for example identity-verification files) while keeping your account, email [email protected] from your registered email address.
